POLICIES: Internment & Inurment

  • All casket and cremation burials must be properly documented with the Geneva Cemetery Association. Funeral homes are responsible for providing the necessary legal documents to the cemetery. The funeral director coordinates burial excavations.
  • Cremains must be in a durable container approved by a funeral home. For inurnments, the burial opening must be dug at least threefeet in depth. Grave vaults are required.
  • Monuments can only be placed after permission from the Geneva Cemetery Association. One headstone per lot.
  • No lot shall be used for any other purpose than for the burial of the human dead.

in keeping Geneva Cemetery naturally beautiful, and we thank you for respecting and following our rules.

  • Geneva Cemetery is open from sunrise to sunset. There is no parking lot, nor restroom on site.
  • All ground-level artificial decoration shall be removed by September 15th.
  • No glass items are allowed.
  • No additional trees or shrubs are to be planted.
  • The Geneva Cemetery Association is not responsible for missing items placed on the gravesites.
  • Straightening and maintaining the grave markers and monuments are the responsibility of the owner.
  • During mowing season, all items in the way of mowing will be removed. Please position shepherd staff or plant stands to allow for mowing and trimming.
